I am an author and freelance writer with a varied career in Life. I grew up exploring the beaches of Sydney, but always had an itch to travel. I have ended up spending most of my adult life in London and for a little while in Paris. Oui! Je parle français… but it’s rusty! I love discovering new places, whether a secret park in London or a mediaeval village in country Cataluyna. I delight in an unexpected adventure and encountering intriguing characters. I love to listen to people talk about their passion. My work history began as a very bad actor in bit parts and a few minor commercials. Luckily, I realised I was not going to ‘make it’ and moved into production. Always obsessed with story and what makes people tick, I gravitated to film production and began working in script development. Finally owning up to my secret ambition - to be a writer, I worked as a personal assistant for a finance company to fund my postgraduate certificate in writing at City University, whilst writing mornings, evenings and weekends. In 2014, my first novel, Rachael’s Gift was published by Picador ANZ.  I have published short stories, written feature articles and developed copy for several fashion labels and a health and fitness blog. My second novel is based on a true life story of a servant girl in nineteenth century Tasmania. It’s about class, power and freedom, the role of colonialism and the burdens we inherit from our ancestors.

A writer must have a good ear and a good eye. From there, it’s a lot of hard work, love and learning. A tale simply told.
